Dance Background: Somiya started dancing at 10 at Cleveland City Dance, but received most of their training at Ohio Contemporary Ballet (formerly known as Verb Ballets) in Shaker Heights, OH. At Ohio Contemporary Ballet, Somiya got the chance to perform with the professional company in works such as Stephanie Martinez's "World of Another" and Heinz Poll's "Bolero." After graduating high school, Somiya took a gap year to dance as a Contemporary Ballet Trainee at Joffrey Ballet in Chicago.
