Princeton University Ballet will be holding virtual auditions this semester! If you are interested in auditioning, please fill out the registration form at the link HERE.
When is the deadline to submit an audition? |
Dancers will have until 11:59 PM EST on Sunday, January 31st to submit an audition.
|
How do I audition? |
PUB members have filmed five possible combinations to complete for the audition. These include:
(1) barre combination #1(tendu and degage) (2) barre combination #2 (rond de jambe, fondu, and developpe) (3) center adagio (4) center waltz (5) contemporary In order to audition, dancers must film themselves doing the two barre combinations as well as two of the other three combinations. Click the link HERE to view the playlist. *A note about the contemporary combo: contemporary experience is absolutely not required to be a part of PUB! Every semester, PUB performs both contemporary and classical ballet works and members come from a range of contemporary dance backgrounds. Including the contemporary combo in your audition can only help you, and choosing not to include will not hurt you in any way. |
How do I submit my audition? |
When you have completed your audition, please upload your videos to a Google Drive folder and share with [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected]. Please label each submission as Firstname_Lastname_Comboname.

Other notes about filming: |
What should I wear?
Please wear what makes you feel comfortable, but try to make it semi-form-fitting so that we can see you move. How should I position my camera? Position your camera so that you can get as much of your body in shot as possible. Whether the camera is horizontal or vertical doesn't matter. What if I don't have enough space to dance in? As you can see in the videos, all of us were working with limited space and suboptimal flooring, and the combinations were created with these limitations in mind! That being said, it is absolutely okay to make adaptations to the combinations (e.g. taking a step back, changing the angling, or lowering your leg). If you feel that you cannot dance in the space that you have, please reach out to one of us and we'd be happy to help you find a solution. |
If you have any questions about combinations, the auditions process, or PUB in general, please reach out to one of the emails provided below. We would love to hear from you and help you out in any way we can <3
